Week 1: BEE GIRLS …and… STUFFED ANIMAL

…me and my toothless wonder…

Amberly and I are working on a weekly photo project together. I’m the luckiest mama in the whole wide world. We started a photography/journaling blog for her a couple weeks ago, and I must admit I’m bursting with pride. This sweet hearted, creative genius, hyper-focused enthusiast is mine! She created her own list of 52 weekly challenges, including “baby doll, doggie, silly, dress-up, grass…”. I compared our lists after the fact and noticed we actually match on quite a few. I feel like we’re entering a new stage of common interests, shopping dates, and borrowing each other’s shoes!

I’ve always wanted to do a “365 days” photo project, but I know myself better than that. I’m pretty sure I can pull off weekly, with a simple enough list, especially when I have a little partner in crime. I originally started with shutterboo’s weekly list , which ended up serving as my framework as I filtered through and added most of my own items. Obviously, I didn’t take the first one of the two of us (thanks Mike!), but I’ll take it from here on out…

Reluctantly, and without further ado, here’s me with said STUFFED ANIMAL. My girl is quite the director… you should have heard her telling me how to stand, kiss, hold my hands, etc. I certainly got a taste of my own medicine. Except I don’t usually stomp my feet in frustration when things don’t go as smoothly as I imagined ha! I was recruited after her first model, little Aiden, refused to cooperate. This project might turn into something less about creativity and more about a lesson in patience and resilience for all of us. =)

We’re going to start with the first 6 from each of our lists and see how it goes…

shutterboo - Very exciting that your taking on a challenge with your daughter! I think it’s very cool that you two share a hobby; my DAd is a photographer and was always behind the lens when I was kid but I’m sure you two will take turns!
Good luck with your challenge. I’ve found – in 34 weeks – that a weekly challenge makes you think a little more about composition and in turn improves your skills. Can’t wait to see what you two cook up.

Tina - Okay 1) I LOVEEE your hair dark gurl! Eye poppin’!2) I should do this with my daughter. She is very much a creative and has taken some great pictures when I let her. She really has natural composition. SO FUN!

THANKS, Tina!! I’m still getting used to the dark. My only regret is that I don’t match my toehead kiddos. Sounds lame, but I kind of miss that. Don’t miss those ROOTS though LOL! Oh please do this with your daughter too – it’s like 9 parts fun and bonding and only ONE part challenge. C’mon Join us =)).

Tawnya - So glad to see you doing well! I love this idea, and I love that you included your little miss! <3 I miss you and wish we had time to catch up!

I’ll recruit my little Bella, and have her help make a list of things we should photograph together… such a fun idea for mother/daughter.
