They served as pirate swords, oars, fishing poles, magic wands, and hiking sticks. I finished half of my book, These is My Words, which was the perfect novel to read while camping in the middle of nowhere. As the kids chased each other with tent poles pretending to be wild scurvy pirates, I was in the 1800’s along side Sarah Prine surviving the early Arizona Territories (2 thumbs up, btw. I hope this book never ends). Anyway, we’re home. We spent half a day showering and cleaning mud and grime from places where there should never be mud and grime and I’m gladly done worrying about bugs crawling up my pant legs. It’s good to be back and freshly recharged, but I’m already looking at my calendar for the soonest date we can do it again.

We’re packing up Rocket and heading for the beach. I’m busting at the seams excited to shoot Josh & Courtney’s Mission Bay wedding on Saturday and amazing photographer and friend Melissa Koehler’s family on Sunday. Squeel! California here I come, right back where I started from!
